Why I Started Comparing Instead of Just Buying

Does it include labor or just the heat exchanger? Who pays for shipping? I keep a folder of warranty terms for every major piece of equipment we own.

So Which Option Should You Buy?

If you ask me, the best choice depends on what you're really heating.

  • If you need domestic hot water for a bathroom or break room, buy a hot water heater. Don't try to make it a boiler.
  • If you need permanent, comfortable heat for a commercial building, a Burnham Alpine boiler is the option that made sense in our cost model. It isn't the cheapest quote, but it's the clearest quote.

Burnham isn't the only good boiler on the market. I've seen other brands run well in other buildings. But when I compare a transparent quote, a long service life, and a support team that answers the phone, Alpine wins on total cost, not on sticker price.
