The catch: heat pump dryers take longer to dry. The first one we installed generated tenant complaints — "the dryer's broken, it takes two hours" — for about six weeks, until people adjusted. It's not a dealbreaker, but it's worth knowing before you swap out all your dryers at once.

When I Wouldn't Buy Premium

Not every situation calls for a premium heating investment. If your boiler is older than 20 years and still running fine, keep it running. Don't replace it proactively unless the heat exchanger is leaking. If a property is slated for major renovation or demolition within five years, do the minimum to keep it operational. For seasonal buildings used only a few months a year, a cheaper unit's shorter lifespan might never catch up with you.
